WALL-E

I saw it opening night, it was wonderful. Not just a great Disney or Pixar film, but a great film. It is sad and dark at times, but the way that it's handled, adds to the film, it doesn't subtract from it. Which is a tall order for any movie animated or not. The plot is hard for me to explain with out making it sound bad, so I'll leave that to the professionals. I can tell you that the trailer doesn't do it any justice. It's beautifully animated down to the last details. Like the reflections in our hero's camera lens eyes. Plus the space travel scenes (especially that first one) are worth the price of admission. WALL-E in my humble opinion is also best enjoyed on a giant screen, so go see it now. And if it's any final consideration on how good it is. I clapped at the end. (And yes...I know they can't hear me...) I did it anyways.

Pandemonium (sorry couldn't resist)

I saw Kung-Fu Panda this weekend. And you know what? I enjoyed it. Fast paced, goofy, and brightly coloured. I giggled for the whole hour. Jack Black's love of the whole process really seeps out onto the screen. The plot is nothing remarkable, and it's premise and delivery won't change the world. But it was very fun. And it doesn't hurt to see it with a bunch of little children who laugh as easy as you do.

Blockbuster Box Office

On July 25th, 2008. Fifty days from now, one of the most subversive show in television history, will make a return to the big screen. And no I'm not talking about Barney. I am obsessively counting down the days until The X-Files: I Want to Believe hits theatres. I caught Chris Carter, and Frank Spotnitz at NYC comic con. YES, I did that! I even brought home a promo poster, which like Mulder's UFO poster where the film takes it's name, has a prominent space on the living room wall. So if you happen to read this blog, and love the X-files too, stay tuned for goodies!
